🧠 My best upgrade as a biohacker?
Not adding more stuff.
Removing it.
That shift alone, from more to less, changed everything. My energy, my skin, my focus… even how I sleep. All from getting rid of just a few foods that most people still keep in their kitchen.
We all eat differently, and that’s okay.
But if your goal is to feel better, think clearer, and age slower...
Some foods simply don’t belong anymore.
1️⃣ Seed Oils (Canola, Soy, Corn, Sunflower)
They’re everywhere. In dressings, sauces, frozen meals, even “healthy” snacks.
The problem? These oils are ultra-processed, high in omega-6s, and heat-sensitive. They fuel chronic inflammation, the slow, silent kind that builds up in your joints, your brain, your gut.
✅ I replaced them with extra virgin olive oil (cold use) and coconut oil (cooking). Zero drama, better flavor, and no hidden damage.
2️⃣ Margarine & “Light” Spreads
These were made to look healthier than butter. Spoiler: they’re not.
Most are built from the same seed oils I just mentioned, whipped up with chemicals and preservatives, then sold as heart-friendly. But your body knows the difference between real and fake.
✅ I switched to grass-fed butter or ghee. Rich in fat-soluble vitamins, stable when heated, and actually supports hormone production.
3️⃣ Refined Sugar
This was the hardest one to admit. Sugar isn’t just about cravings or weight, it’s a metabolic wrecking ball.
It spikes blood glucose, triggers insulin resistance, feeds inflammation, and disrupts your gut microbiome. And worst of all? You barely notice it, until you crash.
✅ I now use raw honey, monk fruit, or nothing. My taste buds adjusted fast. And the steady energy is worth it.
4️⃣ Fruit Juice (Even “100% Natural”)
It sounds healthy. It’s fruit, right?
But fruit juice without fiber is just liquid sugar. A single glass can hit your blood sugar like soda, and leave you just as tired an hour later.
✅ I stick with whole fruits, or lemon/lime water. You get the flavor, the hydration, and none of the crash.
5️⃣ Packaged Snacks
This was more about convenience than nutrition. Chips, crackers, protein bars, they’re made to be addictive. Hyper-palatable, shelf-stable, and empty.
After a handful, I was never full. After a month, I was more inflamed, less focused, and always hungry again.
✅ Now I snack on boiled eggs, high-cacao dark chocolate, or a small handful of nuts. Real food, real nutrients, real satiety.
Is it harder? A little.
Does it cost more? Sometimes.
But it’s still way cheaper than a hospital bill.
And the return?
A sharper mind.
A calmer gut.
A body that works with you, not against you.
This isn’t about perfection. I still slip up. But my baseline? It’s stronger than ever, and that didn’t come from adding more. It came from subtracting what no longer served me.
